Image Resizer

Every platform wants a different image size: a square for Instagram, 1280 × 720 for a YouTube thumbnail, a wide banner for LinkedIn. This free image resizer lets you resize any JPG, PNG or WebP to exact pixel dimensions or by percentage, and it has one-click presets for the most common social media sizes. Keep the aspect ratio locked to avoid stretching, or use "fit and fill" to place your picture on a background colour at the exact size a platform asks for. It's also handy for blog images: Blogger and WordPress sites load much faster when you upload photos at the size they're displayed rather than straight from a phone camera. The resizing happens on your device, so your images are never uploaded.

Resize an image

Mode only matters when "Keep aspect ratio" is off or you pick a preset. Images are processed on your device and never uploaded.

How to resize an image

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Pick a preset, or type a width. With the ratio locked, the height fills in automatically.
  3. For presets, choose "Crop to fill" to cover the whole frame, or "Fit with background" to keep the whole picture.
  4. Pick a format and click Download.

FAQ

Does resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it much bigger than the original will look soft or blurry, because the browser can’t invent detail that isn’t there.

What size should a YouTube thumbnail be?

YouTube recommends 1280 × 720 pixels (16:9), under 2 MB, in JPG, PNG or GIF. Use the YouTube preset.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing uses your browser’s canvas, so the image stays on your device.

Can I resize many images at once?

Not yet. This tool handles one image at a time.
