Pomodoro Timer

The Pomodoro Technique, developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, is one of the simplest ways to beat procrastination: work with full focus for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after four rounds take a longer 15 to 30 minute break. This free Pomodoro timer runs that cycle for you automatically. Press Start and it counts down your focus session, plays a gentle chime when it ends, switches to the right break, and keeps count of how many Pomodoros you've finished today. Change the focus, short break and long break lengths and how many sessions come before a long break, for example 50/10 for deep work or 15/3 if you're easing in. Turn on auto-start if you don't want to click between phases. The time left shows in the browser tab title, so you can keep the timer in a background tab while you work in your documents, code editor or AI chat. Like our other timers, it's calculated from your device's clock, so it doesn't drift when the tab is in the background. Your settings and today's count are saved only in this browser. It's a focus aid, not a productivity guarantee: pick one task per session and silence notifications for the best results.

FAQ

Why 25 minutes?

It’s long enough to make real progress and short enough to resist distraction. Feel free to adjust it in Settings.

Does it work in a background tab?

Yes. Time is based on your device’s clock, and the tab title shows the countdown.

Why didn’t the chime play?

Browsers allow sound only after you’ve interacted with the page, and phones may silence it when the screen locks.

Is my data saved?

Your settings and today’s count are kept in this browser only.
